Gorditas Tony's: Authentic Mexican Gorditas in El Paso

I like the red deshebrada gordita, just think it's not right to charge for frijoles. Even though I don't put frijoles on mine. I just don't know of anywhere else that charges for frijoles.

I am driving cross country and only in El Paso for one night. The hotel recommended la Taqueria traditional for good tacos, but when I got there, they were having their holiday party and it was closed to the public. The owner was very sweet and told me to come the next morning over to his other place - Gordita Tony - and he would treat me to some Gorditas. I got the huevos and chorizo, the Mexican egg and another that was pork and potato in a Verde sauce. I have never had Gorditas so I didn’t know what to expect, but I could not get over how flavorful and perfectly seasoned the ingredients were. I am usually one to salt and pepper and add hot sauce – but these needed nothing. I had a few bites out of each and saved them for my drive toward Phoenix. If there is any way, I can travel through El Paso again I will be making sure that I stop at Gorditas Tony!

The food is good, and workers are nice. The restroom could be nicer, and it’s a bit loud.

I was told that it was good but it was better than good. I thought seriously about buying some to bring back to Arizona

The best most fire most slapping Gordita I ever had!! Fresh homemade Gorditas and you can’t go wrong with almost any choice but I prefer the potato with ground beef or shredded I don’t know the name! Spicy but amazing gonna go back and get couple more for the road!!

We were passing through on our way to Arizona and my husband had eaten here many years ago while working in El Paso and said we had to stop. It's like nothing I've ever had. I called them meat pockets, they are Gorditas and are good! They were out of Carne Asada so we had Pork but still, very delicious and spicy(for me) but they had lots of flavor. We'll definitely stop again and hopefully Carne Asada will be available.

Gorditas are always delicious. I order the verde deshebrada and Winnie’s. Have ordered chicharrones too, never not good. Definitely recommend trying it out. But be cautious as most food is spicy.

There are many food choices in El Paso, but when it comes to gorditas, you cannot overlook Tonys Gorditas. They have been around for a while. And while being very honest i was not impressed with the Dyer location, the one in Sundland Park drive was good. I ordered chile con queso and Asado de Puerco with cheese. The Asado was bomb! Very tasty and flavorful, the chile con queso was good. I wish they had both flour and corn gorditas, but ibwas told they only serve flour ones, very common of our Northern region of Mexico. I will definitely try the Montana avenue location, as i was told that one was the best. Until next time, bon appetite.
